A Theoretical Comparison Between the Life Cycle of Three Products

This is a comparison between the life cycle of three Chairs constructed using three different sets of materials and the reulting effect of these products on thier environment. The three chairs are:

Chair 1 - Designed within the cradle to cradle framework using only organic materials.

Chair 2 - Designed within the cradle to cradle framework using only hi-tech materials.

Chair 3 - Designed with disregard for the cradle to cradle framework using hi tech hybrid materials.

The steps in the life cycle whi9ch i will be looking at our:

- Porduction/precurement of raw materials

- Product manufacture

- Product life

- Product recycling

I will look at each of these steps in the following table:

- Production of raw materials

Chair 1 Chair 2 Chair 3

Description of the materials used in the chair: The raw materials for this chair are timber as the main material, linseed oil or other natural oil as a finnish, and animal glue.

The employment opertunities which are created: The farming of these materials creates preodominantly pleasant and safe work, in the managment of the forrest for the timber

Energy requirments: The majority of the energy used to create the

Rate of renewabilkity of the materials:
